They both lay down on the bed after turning off the lights. Advika left a questionable space between them both.
"Advika," Ruhan spoke
"Ji?"
(Yes?)
"Koi aane wala hai?"
(Is anyone coming?)
"Nahi."
(No)
"Kisi ko bulane wali hai aap?"
(Are you calling someone?)
"Nahi."
(No)
"Toh itni jagah kyu chodi hai?"
(So why have you left so much space?)
Advika widened her eyes hearing him. She pulled herself a bit closer... and a bit means 1 or maybe 2milimeters.
Ruhan didn't hide the smile forming on his face. He flicked her forehead and turned to his side, and went in his dreamland.
Advika wasn't able to sleep. Her mind played many things. How did she get so comfortable to him? Why does his presence make her feel safe? Aren't arranged marriages chaotic and toxic. Then why is he so nice to her? If he is being nice, after some time, he'll change? Will he become toxic?
Her thoughts came to a pause when she felt her phone vibrating. Advika got down the bed and answered the call while walking towards the balcony.
"Yes, mumma?"
A female voice spoke from the other side, "Advika, my princess. How are you?"
A genuine smile spread on her face after hearing her mother's voice.
"I'm fine, mumma."
"Is Ruhan good to you?"
"Yes yes"
"Come tomorrow, for the Pagphera."
Advika grinned like a schoolgirl. "Okay, mumma."
Instead of going back to sleep, she walked out of the bedroom to somewhere particular. She knocked on the door and Navya opened it after sometime.
"Kya hua bachhe, itni raat ko kya kar rahi ho yahan?"
(What happened? What are you doing here at this late?)
Advika spoke, "Actually, mumma called me... and...."
Navya chuckled, "Kal jaana hai?"
Advika nodded with a smile.
"Ok, you go sleep. I'll talk to Akshay. And yes, you tell Ruhan." Navya said patting her head.
Once Advika walked away, Navya went inside her bedroom and closed the door behind herself.
Next morning,
Advika woke up and went inside the attached bathroom to shower. Her excitement was very clear in her actions. After some time, she was dressed in a beautiful sky blue colored saree. Her hairs were left open, which reached almost her ass.
She was infront of the dressing table and was busy applying basic makeup, lipstick, Kohl and moisturizer.
Ruhan woke up and stretched his arms above head. His gaze fell on Advika who was too lost in her world.
He walked towards her, his bare feet making no sounds on the floor.
His gaze fell on the engagement ring on her finger and a soft smile spread on his lips.
"Kya kar rahi hai aap?"
(What are you doing?)
She visibly flinched when he whispered against her ears. His deep morning voice wasn't helping anyways.
After a few seconds, she spoke;
"Aaj jaana hai na."
"Where?"
"Pagphere ki rasam ke liye."
Ruhan nodded hearing this. His gaze fell on the vermillion box in her hand and he gently took it from her grasp.
Advika looked at him with a frown on her face but after seeing his hands take a pinch of it between his fingers she realised what he was going to do.
When his hand moved towards her hair partition she closed her eyes.
"You are beautiful Advika, very very beautiful." He said while applying the vermillion in her hairline.
Butterflies erupted in her stomach at his words along with her cheeks turning a vibrant red.
"Aap sharmati bohot hai" He laughed and pinched her cheeks.
(You are way too shy.)
She looked down to hide her face, but all in vain, when he tilt her chin up with his index finger. Her gaze fell on his face,
"Aap kyu pareshan kar rahe hai mujhe?"
"For this reaction" He said and poked her cheek, then left from there and headed towards the bathroom.
Advika looked at retreating figure for some moments then turned back to finish her incomplete makeup. She looked at the vermillion in her hairline and an involuntary smile spread on her face.
"He is too much... too much for me to handle." She whispered to herself.
After some time, she walked downstairs. Krish who was busy scrolling on his phone, scrolling through social media looked up from his screen when he smelled perfume.
"Bhabhi, you look stunning."
He said and blew a kiss towards her. Advika just laughed at his antics. Navya walked towards her, when she saw Advika her face split in a smile.
She smudged Kohl from the corner of her eyes and smeared it behind Advika's ears.
"Nazar na lage, Badi Soni lag rahi."
Advika just smiled at the sweet gesture. When Navya saw Ruhan walking down in his off Blue shirt and unknowingly matching the color of Advika's saree, she gave him a teasing look.
"Go ruhan, after having breakfast, drop Advika to her mother's house."
She then turned to Advika, "Tu bhi breakfast ke baad hi jaegi. Chal jaake kha ke aa"
They both nodded and walked towards the dining table.
They both were busy eating when Ruhan's gaze fell on Advika who was eating like she is going to miss her flight. He just chuckled silently at her and focused back on his plate.
Once they both were done, Ruhan walked out of the mansion with his car keys.
He started the car and drove it towards the entrance gate waiting for Advika who had went upstairs for something.
She walked in the car and seated down beside him on the passenger seat.
